I was thrilled to see the horses come running up to me again on this gorgeous second day in Sheldon Refuge. I went elsewhere all day and came back to their area late in the afternoon. I saw them grazing, and parked a mile or so away. I decided to try and find the owls first, but didn't see them today. Then it was off towards the horses, but I couldn't see them anywhere after hiking another mile their general direction. I stopped for a snack and packed up my camera to hike the two miles back to the car (white dot in the pic of the dry lake bed). And that's when I saw them in the distance and they had just noticed me, too. Not only did the horses come running again, they followed me back for over a mile. The video clip is the last time they came up to me, and at some point I'll stitch together the other videos from the day. Amazing experience to walk with them and get that kind of response from wild horses.
