What a surprising day! I was really disappointed that I had missed some potentially great shots of hawks, and I hadn't seen any big wildlife either. I photographed a nice grouse, but the light was really tough to get a good shot. Then I heard a group of Clark's Nutcrackers that were going nuts, so I decided to go take a few pics of the birds and call it a day. To my surprise and delight, the birds were presumably so upset because of the pine marten! I couldn't believe it. In total I had 80 seconds from first to last shot before she? disappeared into the forest. The light was tough but manageable. My camera settings were ok, but not perfect. Good enough in the end for my best shots ever of a pine marten. Forth of my life and really coincidental that the first two were within a week of each other in 2015 and my last two were within the last two weeks.
More pics of the hawks and grouse to come a little later today.
